I have a 9 month old 2022 Telluride SX with 4,500 miles on it. I won't go over 7,500 miles or 12 months on the oil change which is what KIA recommends (see below). Also, I try to give it a good long drive on the interstate at least once a week. When I return from a long trip, I'm aware there's a possibility it won't start but the KIA has been fine so far. However, my 2022 Subaru Forester Touring driven about the same amount had a dead battery after a 10 day trip. Subaru replaced a defected battery (dead cell) under warranty but what a huge inconvenience for a brand new car.
I have been worried that the remote start and location features will drain the battery on both cars. The KIA will go into a power save mode after ~7 days.
KIA - Once a year, or every 7,500 miles, you’ll need to have your vehicle serviced for a few routine replacements and checks. This includes having your
engine oil and oil filter changed. The climate control air filter also will need to be changed.
Subaru recommends 6 months and 6,000 miles. I'm taking it in at 10 months and 6,000 miles.
