So my spouse and I have decided on the Telluride and are ready to start our search. We want the SX with the Prestige Package.

We will be cash buyers. Any recommendations on how long we should wait to get a decent deal? We aren't in a hurry, so if it means waiting until October/November, we are fine doing that.

The longer you wait, the better deal you will get. Right now SX Prestiges are a rare bird and are unlikely to find an unsold one at a dealer right now. There are a lot of shady dealers marking the SXP up as much as 10K right now. I ordered one from Kia of Muncie at costco pricing and they quoted me 3 to 4 months until arrival. They just reopened orders on them a couple weeks ago. They had stopped orders because of supply problems and demand.

Problem is staying on top of when allocations increase.
From my experience that's only found out by keeping in contact with local dealers. Unless Kia Corporate is willing to relay that information to us, which they haven't with any info so far.
Very true, it's definitely something you have to keep on top of yourself, which can be tricky.

So having ordered the SX Prestige June 28th, the only thing I’ve been notified is that I have a VIN, but no specified date anymore. Was told 6-8 weeks, now, they don’t have any dates for me. I’ve called every Friday now, and nothing yet. Omaha, Ne, dealer is Edwards of Council Bluffs, IA. Can anyone tell me where I personally can go, to get an update since they “are waiting for 9 Tellurides, right now, we don’t know anything.” Very frustrated

I would order now to have it by December January. I used Muncie Kia. It's far but dealers in New Jersey are marking up and not doing orders. I save 1300 off stick of sx and will get any other offers that are being offered the month I take possession.

Where are looking for your Telluride @szmarsden11? because depending on where you are it might be best to order sooner rather than later.

My wife and I ordered a Telluride SX front wheel drive without the Prestige package. We were told 8-16 weeks. Due to the popular demand, ours is going to take 6-1/2 months!!!! So angry that it takes so long. They orignally were only going to produce 40,000 this first year and now upped it to 60,000 plus shut down an assembly line for the Sorento to build more Telluride's. We were also told prices for the 2021 will be going up. They did these prices to see how well they sold. The 2020 is a great value compared to other vehicles comparable. You have to spend a couple thousand more to get the same equipment to match the Telluride.

Spending more to get the same level of features is correct and the Telluride is a great value. There are exceptions to this.

I got a quote in writing from an Acura dealer 2020 SH AWD MDX Tech package at $10,100 off MSRP. The MDX Tech includes the same features as on the SX. The MDX went from $52K to 42K, a bit less than the SX. I have owned 5 MDX and they're great but the 2020 looks very 10 years ago and the Telluride "pops". Superior to it's cousin Palisade with the big ugly Lexus/Infiniti maw up front.

Kia nailed the styling everywhere; the front, side, and rear. A dang near perfect design and there's nothing I would change except for the ugly black wheels on the SX which is an easy fix. I can't fix the face on the Palisade or the mini van front end on the MDX.

I need to get mine ordered before prices go up. The SX with white paint, tow package, floor mats, and Prestige will be $5K more than the discounted price of the MDX. So much for being cheaper. SX Prestige MSRP is actually $5K cheaper $47K vs $52K.
