Today 2/2/23 I had a trailer hitch installed on my 2023 Telluride SX-P. The installer tried using a 2022 wiring harness module for brake lights etc. The connector for this module would not fit into my wiring. Installer contacted KIA dealer and they said that a trailer wiring harness has not been manufactured for a 2023 Telluride. Has anyone had a similar experience? Any thoughts on how I can find out when a harness might be available? Thank you

I ran into the same problem with my wife's X-Pro. After doing a lot of digging through other Telluride forums, it looks like Kia completely changed the wiring harness setup. If you look at the 2022 connector wiring diagram, they had the connector wired directly to the respective lights (Brake, Turn Signals, and Tail lights). With the 2023 they are utilizing a CAN bus system. Think of it as a computer network for your car. The only two options you have are 1). Wait until Kia or someone comes up with a harness that can communicate with the CAN Bus system. Or 2). Buy a generic Tekonsha wiring harness, then find and tap into the individual wires.

For me, I think I am going to cut the vehicle side of my Tekonsha Harness that I bought, and tap into the respective wires.

Thank you for taking time to answer my question and the wiring schematic.

My 2023 X-Line adventure starts in getting the 9 pin harness from KIA which is plug and play. Installed a Reece trailer hitch but the installer could not find the plug for the harness. KIA dealer looked and said the X-Line does not come with a plug for the trailer harness.
Hitch installer is hesitant to hard wire trailer harness because it will void the warranty. The dealer states KIA gives a definite maybe on voiding the warranty.
Any suggestions?

Has anyone found a trailer wiring that is compatible to the 2023 Telluride?
