I thought I would jump in here since i just had the hot potato issue with my KIA dealership and KIA "customer" service person this week. The dealer has been ducking (Florida sun - car wash - natural causes reasons) the issue since October and I have been trying to get the KIA rep to have KIA make good. I asked to have a KIA regional manager look at the car and tell us that this is the way they expect to see their cars look after 3 years. But as put to me by KIA corp rep - "KIA regional managers ARE NOT CUSTOMER FACING AND KIA RELYS 100% ON THEIR DEALERS TRAINED TECHNICHINS TO MAKE THE FINAL DECISION" on issues like this manufacture defect chrome issue. Oh by the way - The dealer is more than willing to replace it if we pay for it.... KIA suggested that I take it to another KIA dealer for a second opinion, which I will do next week. I did notice on the new nightfall edition they are using a completely black molding now, so I guess KIA realized the manufacturing defect and changed to better solution.
