I have a 2021 Gravity Grey and I am having the same issues. I took my vehicle to the dealership in Oct 2022, and they've been giving me the run around ever since. They blamed it on car wash then told me to contact Kia Customer Care who gave me the run around and is now telling me to go back to the dealership. We need to figure out how to do a class action lawsuit like others have with the paint chipping. Does anyone else have any updates that could assist those of us who are still dealing with this issue? It's incomprehensible how utterly horrible their customer service is....last purchase.
I agree, I will never buy another KIA, they definitely do no stand up to their bump to bump warranty. I can understand if the fading and chipping was the customers fault, but this a manufactory issue!!!

My Kia dealership has agreed to replace all of the trim. They even admitted it looks awful and they would not want me driving around with the car looking like that! At first, they did try to push it off on me, bad car wash product, sprinkler system spraying water on the car, not garaged, salt water (yeah, duh, we live in FL), but finally said they would replace. However, they are making me sign a paper that this is a one-time replacement and if it happens again, tough stuff! I am going on Monday for them to do the deed. I will let everyone know how it works out. Good luck!

Now, if I could just get KitchenAid to fix their defective refrigerator, I would really be happy! A girl can dream, right?
Can you let me know the name of the dealership? I also live in FL and my Telluride looks horrible and no one wants to take responsibility. Kia not addressing this says that Kia does not care about their customers after the sales. Has anyone started a lawsuit?

I have a 2021 NF edition. And my trim was fading. They replaced the messed up ones under warranty but they have since also fading again. I have been to the dealership 6 times over the trim. 2 times the ordered the wrong color and 2 times they had messed up the replacement trim while installing. But they currently everything has been replaced under warranty and I have the correct color and unfaded trim. Hopefully it will last this time.

I'm sure in the matter of 8 months it will fade again, that's what I'm dealing with now. Dealership replaced the trim once, but refused to replace again and my vehicle is only 2 1/2 years old. I hate to see what it will look like in 5 years. If they interest rates were't so high right now, I would have traded it on already.

The window mouldings on my 2021 Telluride Nightfall Edition are discoloring. The chrome color is starting to show through. Does anyone else have this problem? I’m wondering if Kia used some type of paint on the moulding that is fading?
Yes! I have a 2021 Sportage with nightfall and all the window trim paint is fading off. I took it to the dealership I got it from and they accused me of using chemicals on it to remove it and refused to repair it even though its under warrant still.

I didn't have to go to the dealership I bought it from. I called the Kia closest to me, told them what was going on and they were very much aware of the issue. They asked me to bring it in so they could take pictures and order the parts. It took them an entire day to replace it, but they did it for free. Now, 4 months later, they are starting to come off. It's a nightmare. I can't take it through the carwash because I'm worried it will come off and tear up the paint even worse than it already is, because the paint is faulty as well... or so I'm researching now and finding that I am not the only one with paint falling off.

We are also having the same issues and same run-arounds until about 4 months ago where the local dealer said they were able to approve ordering but on back order. Just got a call a few weeks back (second one) saying parts are in, only to be cancelled last minute saying they found damage in the new trim. They are now again back ordered and after speaking to the dealership and asking if ordering black trim for our 2022 is an option, we were told Kia is requiring them to replace the old trim with the black chrome only. So we find a solution and ask for the black trim and Kia says no with still not accepting responsibility from the original defect and dealership told us to avoid certain car washes etc. Yet the fading started after getting my vehicle serviced and washed AT Kia. Also was told that once the new trim goes on, if the vehicle goes out of warranty and the fading occurs again, (Which we were told would occur again cuz Kia didn’t find a solution!) then it was on our dime and Kia would not fix. New trim will go on and will be trading the vehicle and will not buy Kia again!

Just picked up my 22 telluride night edition. 2nd time in 3 years that the trim needed to be replaced. Fortunately it's still under warranty. Bad thing is that I'll have to pay out of pocket when it happens again. $3900 to replace the trim. Employees admit substandard materials were used. Anyone planning a lawsuit? I'd like to be a part of it.

2022 Nighfall Edition - out of warranty as we put a lot of miles on our car, but the trim looks awful, worn areas all up and down the trim faded or rubbed down to mostly silver at this point. And yet, we paid extra for this. Kia should have recalled this failure. Kia is not on my list when we are ready to replace our car.

Yes, you're not alone—some Telluride Nightfall owners have reported the black window trim fading or showing chrome underneath. Kia used a painted black finish over chrome for the Nightfall trim, and over time, exposure to sun and weather can cause it to wear off. It's worth checking with your dealer—some have replaced the mouldings under warranty if it's still valid.
